Invited residency artists receives free access to a small (30 m2) furnished and fully equipped living space. A separate working space may be arranged.

The Pro Artibus Foundation is an independent organisation affiliated with the Foundation for Swedish Culture in Finland. Its main mission is to promote visual arts in all parts of the Swedish-speaking regions of Finland, focusing on contemporary art, temporary and permanent art in public settings, and the foundation’s own, constantly growing art collection.

Snäcksund – The Croft – open to visual artists, curators, art critics and educators, is a place for short periods of artistic or art-related research.

The focus during 2020-2025 is on our so-called Residency-in-Residence format, aimed at experts from different areas of society, with whom the fellows in the Snäcksund Villan program collaborate with

Participants receive travel allowances for the most economical return journey and free accomodation. The foundation supports the artists with knowledge about the region and a broad network of contacts.

Via The Croft residency programme the foundation seeks to engage in sustainable development by applying principles that are also embraced by the foundation’s other programmes and activities.
